How to Pick a Bike Rack
There are many different types of bike racks available on the market today and depending on your needs you will have to choose between the various types. You may want hitch bike racks or put one on the roof of your car, it really just depends on the type of car you have and what is convenient for you. Here are just a couple of types to consider:
Roof Rack – Putting your rack on the top of your car is the most common type of bike rack. You can fit up to four bikes on these racks and in many ways they are the most convenient. They keep the bikes out of the way and safe on the roof of your car or SUV. Roof racks fit most vehicles, consult a sales professional to find one that fits your car. Roof racks can often be converted to ski racks as well, which is a nice option.
Hitch Racks – Putting a rack on your hitch is a great way to transport bikes. You will be limited on the number of bikes that you can put on these racks and obviously you need to have a hitch on your car or truck. These racks are nice in the fact that you don’t have to lift a heavy bike to the top of your car.
